On Monday, January 5, 2026, around 9-10 PM at night, some terrorists attacked forty year old Hindu man Moni Chakraborty with sharp weapons and hacked him to death. As his daily work schedule, Moni closed his shop at the end of the day and started towards home. He reached very close to his house just outside the entrance gate to the house when the terrorists attacked him from behind with sharp weapons.
The locals rushed a critically injured Moni to Palash Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, according to the police officer. The Residential Medical Officer Abdullah Al Mamun of Palash Upazila Health Complex told The Daily Star newspaper correspondent that the victim had injuries on the back of his head.
Hard-working gentleman Moni was a father of a very young child and a devoted husband of his youthful wife. The terrorists have taken away the father of this young child forever and the beloved husband of a young wife. The family and the local Hindu people are horrified and devastated by this cruel murder where murder of Hindu men is increasingly rampant since the regime change in August 2024 due to the anti-Hindu stance of Bangladesh government.
Victim Moni Chakraborty was a successful veteran businessman running a grocery shop at Charsindur Bazar for years. He was a resident of Sadharchar union in Shibpur upazila, Narsinghdi district, Bangladesh.

HUMAN RIGHTS APPEAL: This is NOT an isolated MURDER of a young Hindu man in Islamic Bangladesh. Rampant violent attacks on Hindu religious minorities including murders that started on August 5, 2024 continued and worsened through 2025 in Bangladesh due to the direct and full support of Dr. Muhammad Yunus Government. Murder of young Hindu men has become almost a weekly and daily matter by Muslim attackers in this Muslim majority country since late 2025. Bangladesh Government has seldom arrested or investigated the Muslim murderers and attackers. On top of that, the Government has arrested and imprisoned Hindu human rights leader Chinmoy Krishna Das and numerous other Hindu human rights activists using completely false allegations.
These continuous violent attacks are the part & parcel of an expedited GENOCIDE of Hindu religious minorities in Bangladesh since August 5, 2024 orchestrated by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus who is the Interim Head of the country. Very rarely the Muslim attackers has been arrested and brought under justice. Instead, the government forces have arrested & imprisoned, and even murdered Hindu victims by beating mercilessly.
It is obvious that the objective of Dr. Muhammad Yunus led Bangladesh Government is to annihilate Hindus from the country. With the regime change in Bangladesh since August 5, 2024, Hindu religious minorities are subjected to unprecedented level of violence in the hands of majority Muslims. The Muslim people, the police, the military, the hospitals, and the judiciary of Dr. Muhammad Yunus government – all are working together in this expedited GENOCIDE of Hindus in Bangladesh. All forms of persecution including murder, assault, looting, arson attack, land and property grabbing, death threat, intimidation, rape, abduction, kidnap, and conversion to Muslim of Hindu religious minorities across Bangladesh continue more frequently.
The extent of Hindu persecution has increased manifold with full support of Dr. Muhammad Yunus since the ouster of the previous Sheikh Hasina regime as of August 5, 2024. Hindus, the native people of the land, are living in constant fear in their own ancestral country as the government is directly involved in denying the basic Human rights of Hindu people – the right to life. We, the human rights activists at the HRCB, demand the Chief of Bangladesh Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus to stop annihilating Hindus in the country. We URGE the powerful Western leaders and people who are the protectors of the human rights across the world to HELP & SAVE the persecuted Hindu people of Bangladesh.
It can be noted that Bangladesh territory was an integral part of original India and so original Hindu land. During the Islamic ruling of India, Muslims gradually OCCUPIED the Hindu lands by using Terrorism and forced conversion.
