In the night of Wednesday, January 14, 2026, Muslim Terrorists set fire to the house of Mr. Birendra Kumar Dey  burning down the entire house. Mr. Dey is a Hindu by religion and a teacher by profession who is known as Jhunu Sir among the locals. The family members including the elderly were inside the house who were seen rushing out of the home engulfed in flames. The arsonists clearly had the intention not only to burn down the house but to also burn the people inside alive. Violence against Hindus continue in Dr. Muhammad Yunus led Bangladesh where religious minorities particularly Hindus are the primary targets. Mr. Dey’s house is located in Bahar village of Nandirgaon Union in Gowainghat Upazila, Sylhet District.

The Police administration is yet to arrest any of the arsonists. 

It can be noted that Muslim extremists have been fearlessly terrorizing Hindus across Bangladesh with direct approval of Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the head of the government since August 2024. The Muslim attackers are at large in almost all cases encouraging them to expedite further attacks. On top of that, local Hindus have been quickly arrested in some attack incidents by Police followed by imprisonment by the judiciary. In addition, the Muslim attackers and the Police often intimidate and threaten Hindu victims forcing the victims to make confessional statements putting the blame on their beloved murdered family members.
