There are thousands and thousands of men who are auto-rickshaw drivers by profession across Bangladesh. In Bangladesh where 91% population is Muslim and only 8% population is Hindu by religion, statistically more than 9 Muslim auto-rickshaw drivers should be hacked to death for each Hindu auto-rickshaw driver hacking. However, it was a youth Hindu auto-rickshaw driver who was murdered instead of any Muslim drivers.
In reality, Hindus are primarily the victims of these rampant violent attacks and murders that have become almost a daily routine across Bangladesh since August 2024. These violent attacks and murders of Hindu people routinely receive muted response from the country’s law enforcement and law implementation authorities, or worse Hindu minorities are further attacked and victimized by the Police, Military, and Judiciary.
Even if the local Police show up at the crime scene, they often come up with some sort of justification of the violence favoring the attackers or dismiss as possible suicide instead of homicide. The statistically misaligned attacks are categorically directed towards Hindus which are undoubtedly planned attacks. The silence of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus led Bangladesh Government is a clear approval to the majority Muslims to act increasingly violently towards Hindu people.

ফেনীতে চালককে হত্যা করে অটোরিকশা ছিনতাই
ফেনীর দাগনভূঞায় চালককে কুপিয়ে হত্যা করে অটোরিকশা ছিনতাইয়ের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। রবিবার (১১ জানুয়ারি) দিবাগত রাতে উপজেলার দক্ষিণ করিমপুর মুহুরিবাড়ি-সংলগ্ন এলাকায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
নিহত অটোরিকশাচালকের নাম সমীর কুমার দাস (২৮)। তিনি মাতুভূঞা ইউনিয়নের রামানন্দপুর গ্রামের জেলে বাড়ির কার্তিক কুমার দাসের ছেলে।
পুলিশ ও এলাকাবাসী সূত্রে জানা যায়, দীর্ঘদিন ধরে ব্যাটারিচালিত অটোরিকশা চালিয়ে জীবন নির্বাহ করে আসছে সমীর কুমার দাস। রবিবার রাতে সমীর বাড়িতে না ফেরায় শহরের বিভিন্ন স্থানে তাকে খুঁজতে থাকে তার স্বজনরা। একপর্যায়ে তারা বিষয়টি পুলিশকেও অবহিত করে। রাত ২টার দিকে স্থানীয় লোকজন দক্ষিণ করিমপুর মুহুরিবাড়ির পাশে সমীরের রক্তাক্ত মরদেহ দেখতে পায়। খবর পেয়ে পুলিশ মরদেহটি উদ্ধার করে ফেনী জেনারেল হাসপাতালের মর্গে প্রেরণ করে।
দাগনভূঞা থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মুহাম্মদ ফয়জুল আজীম বলেন, ঘটনার প্রকৃত কারণ উদঘাটনে পুলিশ কাজ করছে। এটি অটোরিকশা ছিনতাইয়ের উদ্দেশ্যে সংঘটিত হত্যাকাণ্ড, নাকি এর পেছনে অন্য কোনো কারণ রয়েছে সব দিক খতিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে। এ ঘটনায় ইতিমধ্যে নিহতের পরিবার মামলা করেছে।
