The Hindu religious minorities of Bangladesh are emotionally shocked and devastated as a Hindu youth named Purbayan Mandal is arrested whereas the real accused, a Muslim youth named Abdur Rahman who insulted revered Hindu Goddess “Mother Kali” first on Facebook, is still at large. Purbayan Mandal was arrested for posting just a reciprocal response to Abdur Rahman’s insulting comment on Hindu Goddess “Mother Kali”. 

The incident occurred recently around a religious post on Facebook on the occasion of the annual Hindu religious festival Kali Puja. A Hindu Facebook user posted a devotional greetings to Hindu Goddess Kali. The accused Muslim youth Abdur Rahman commented to that post using foul and obscene language about Goddess Kali that reads “Clap your hands at the death of Kali (in Bangla: কালী কালীর শাওয়ায় মার তালি।)”. The comment immediately sparked outrage among Hindu people who called it as a serious blow to religious sentiments. The Hindu youth Purbayan Mandal posted a response to Abdur Rahman’s comment on Facebook that reads “Kick the ass of the lustful womanizer Mohammad (in Bangla: লুচ্ছা মাগিখোর মোহাম্মদের গাঁড়ে লাথি।)”

The arrest of the Hindu youth instead of the accused Muslim youth has startled Hindus across Bangladesh gripping them with an unprecedented level of fear and anxiety. The Police arrested Hindu youth Purbayan Mandal on Blasphemy allegation for insulting Islam instead of arresting Muslim youth Abdur Rahman who insulted Hindu religion first. 

The arrest of the Hindu youth is a direct message of Bangladesh Government that Muslims are entitled to insult Hindu religion BUT Hindus do not have any right at all to protest for insulting Hindu religion. It can be noted that Hindus are being violently attacked by Muslims with support and encouragement from Police and Army authorities since the regime change in Bangladesh as of August 5, 2024. The Hindu people are already living in fear and anxiety due to the widespread unabated violence against Hindus by Muslims with full support from the government. 

HUMAN RIGHTS APPEAL: This is NOT an isolated attack on Hindus in Bangladesh. This is NOT an isolated arrest of a Hindu youth on Blasphemy allegation for insulting Islam, and this is NOT the first Anti-Hindu position of the Dr. Muhammad Yunus led Bangladesh Government. However, this arrest along with an open declaration to slaughter Hindus by Muslim extremists out of a concurrent staged abduction of a Muslim Cleric by Hindu temple ISKCON has gripped the already fearful Hindu people with a heightened  level of anxiety and fear.

These are all concrete proof of an expedited GENOCIDE of HINDU religious minorities in Bangladesh since August 5, 2024 orchestrated by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus who is the Interim Head of the country. Not a single Muslim attacker has been arrested and brought under justice. Instead, the government forces have arrested & imprisoned, and even murdered Hindu victims by beating mercilessly.

The sole objective of Dr. Muhammad Yunus led Bangladesh Government is to annihilate Hindus from the country as soon as possible. With the regime change in Bangladesh since August 5, 2024, Hindu religious minorities are subjected to unprecedented level of violence in the hands of majority Muslims. The Muslim people, the police, the military, the hospitals, and the judiciary of Dr. Muhammad Yunus government – all are working together in this expedited GENOCIDE of Hindus in Bangladesh. All forms of persecution including murder, assault, looting, arson attack, land and property grabbing, death threat, intimidation, rape, abduction, kidnap, and conversion to Muslim of Hindu religious minorities across Bangladesh continue more frequently.

The extent of Hindu persecution has increased manifold with full support of Dr. Muhammad Yunus since the ouster of the previous Sheikh Hasina regime as of August 5, 2024. Hindus, the native people of the land, are living in constant fear in their own ancestral country as the government is directly involved in denying the basic Human rights of Hindu people – the right to life. We,  the human rights activists at the HRCB, demand the Chief of Bangladesh Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus to stop annihilating Hindus in the country. We URGE the powerful Western leaders and people who are the protectors of the human rights across the world to HELP & SAVE the persecuted Hindu people of Bangladesh.
