In the very early morning of  Thursday, January 30, 2025, the local people saw a dead half-hanging from a tree in the jackal fruit garden (কাঠাল বাগান) next to one Ms. Jharna Barua’s house in Bishnupur village. On information, the police arrived and recovered the dead body at around 7 o’clock in the morning. The dead body was identified as 25-year old Apu Chandra Kuri. He is the son of Kanti Lal Das of Bishnupur village Jelepara of Mana Membar. 

Eyewitnesses said that no one had any dispute with Apu, why they killed him and hanged him should be investigated. Dr. Shanti Babu, a community leader, stated “the body’s neck was tied to a tree, but the feet knee-down were on the ground in a sitting position. This death is mysterious.” 

The dead body hung up to the tree clearly shows that Apu is in sitting position with his both lower legs bent at knee are down touching the ground. It is impossible for someone to die in suicide in such position sitting on the ground. it is obvious that Apu was murdered and the murderers hung his dead body on a tree.

Sonagazi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bayezid Akon said that the body has been  sent to the hospital for post-mortem. The victim’s sister filed a case at the police station as the plaintiff.
