On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, some criminals vandalized a Hindu temple named Jharbari Shashan Kali Temple located in Birganj upazila of Dinajpur district. The perpetrators desecrated five Hindu deities during the attack. The information about the attack came to light on Thursday, December 19. Mr. Janardan Roy, President of the temple committee said “We’ve never seen such an act here”. Police Officer-in-Charge Abdul Gafur said they were investigating the incident at the time of the report on Dec 20, 2024 by The Daily Star reporter.
In the early morning of Thursday, December 19, 2024, criminals attacked a Hindu temple named Polashkanda Kali Temple located in Beeldora union of Haluaghat and vandalized the deity there. Suvash Chandra Sarker, President of Polashkanda Kali Temple committee, filed a case accusing unidentified persons on the same day. Police arrested Alal Uddin, 27, of Polashkanda village over his alleged involvement on the next day, December 20. During interrogation, Alal confessed to the crime as reported by the local Police Officer in Charge. The attacker was later sent to jail at the order of Mymensingh District Court.
On Friday, December 20, 2024, the temple management and devotees of Hindu temple named Bonderpara Temple located in Shakuai union of Haluaghat upazilla in Mymensingh district reported that some miscreants vandalized the temple and desecrated two deities there. No case is filed and no one is arrested for this attack at the time of the news published by The Daily Star.
