On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Mohammad Abdul Motin, a sub-inspector of Parbatipur Police Station, filed a case against a 15-year old Hindu child under the Cyber Security Act accusing him of hurting Muslims’ religious sentiment on Social Media. Police quickly arrested the accused Hindu child from his home located in Purba Rampur area under Parbatipur upazila and produced him before a Magistrate at the Dinajpur court on the same day, Tuesday, December 3. The court ordered to send him to Juvenile Detention Centre.
Abus Salam, officer-in-charge of Parbatipur Police Station, confirmed that the accused child is a student of Kholahati Cantonment Public School and College.
Per one Mr. Bipul Das, the accused child’s maternal uncle, stated that the child would be sent to Jashore Juvenile Detention Centre on Wednesday, December 4.

8th grader arrested under CSA for ‘hurting religious sentiments’
A Dinajpur court sent an eighth-grader to Juvenile Detention Centre yesterday in a case filed under the Cyber Security Act for allegedly hurting religious sentiments on social media.
The court decision came after police produced the 15-year-old before a magistrate after arresting him in Dinajpur’s Parbatipur upazila.
The arrestee is a student of Kholahati Cantonment Public School and College, confirmed Abus Salam, officer-in-charge of Parbatipur Police Station. He is a resident of Purba Rampur area under Parbatipur upazila.
Police arrested the teenager from his home after Md Abdul Motin, a sub-inspector of Parbatipur Police Station filed the case against him yesterday.
