Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested six Bangladeshi nationals while crossing Panchagarh border illegally in the dark of night and entering India through brokers.
They were arrested on Thursday night (17 October) in the Goalpara border area inside Bangladesh under the responsibility of Ghagra BOP in Harivasa Union of Sadar Upazila of the district.
Lt. Col. Sheikh Mohammad Badruddoza, the commander of Nilphamari Battalion (56 BGB) gave this information in a press release at night.
The arrested are Ganesh Roy (43), son of Dhirendranath Roy of Dabri Jineswari village of Birganj upazila of Dinajpur district, Ganesh Roy’s wife Babita Roy (36) and son Sukhana Roy (10), Devendra Roy (22) son of Bhutt Roy of Mahanpur village, Foni Roy of Jatmukundupar village. Boy Jayant Roy (19) and Ripon Roy (19) son of Rajendranath Roy of Mahanpur village.
During the interrogation, it was revealed that they came to the border area through the Dalal Chakra by paying one lakh taka in cash to the Dalal Chakra of Dinajpur district for the purpose of infiltrating into India.
According to the press release, Nilphamari Battalion (56 BGB) under Thakurgaon sector is always active with the aim of bringing the illegal infiltrators under the law. In continuation of this, on the basis of intelligence information, the raiding party of BOP conducted an operation and arrested the six Bangladeshis while infiltrating India through a place called Goalpara inside Bangladesh, 30 yards from the border pillar 749/20-S of Ghagra BOP’s responsible area of Sadar Harivasa Union of Panchagarh district.
Legal action against them is ongoing.

Sheikh Mohammad Badruddoza told the media that according to the instructions of the BGB headquarters, BGB’s expeditionary activities and intelligence activities are continuing to prevent illegal infiltration and smuggling in the responsible border. বৃহস্পতিবার (১৭ অক্টোবর) দিবাগত রাতে জেলার সদর উপজেলার হাড়িভাসা ইউনিয়নের ঘাগড়া বিওপির দায়িত্বপূর্ণ এলাকার বাংলাদেশের অভ্যন্তরে গোয়ালপাড়া সীমান্ত এলাকায় তাদের আটক করা হয়।
রাতেই এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে মাধ্যমে এ তথ্য জানান নীলফামারী ব্যাটালিয়ন (৫৬ বিজিবি) এর অধিনায়ক লেফট্যানেন্ট কর্নেল শেখ মোহাম্মদ বদরুদ্দোজা।
আটকরা হলেন, দিনাজপুর জেলার বীরগঞ্জ উপজেলার ডাবরী জিনেস্বরী গ্রামের ধীরেন্দ্রনাথ রায়ের ছেলে গনেশ রায় (৪৩), গনেশ রায়ের স্ত্রী ববিতা রায় (৩৬) ও ছেলে দৃশ্য রায় (১০), মাহানপুর গ্রামের ভুট্ট রায়ের ছেলে দেবেন্দ্র রায় (২২), জতমুকুন্দুপর গ্রামের ফনি রায়ের ছেলে জয়ন্ত রায় (১৯) এবং মাহানপুর গ্রামের রাজেন্দ্রনাথ রায়ের ছেলে রিপন রায় (১৯)।
জিজ্ঞাসাবাদে জানা যায়, ভারতে অনুপ্রবেশের উদ্দেশ্যে দিনাজপুর জেলার দালাল চক্রকে নগদ এক লাখ টাকা দিয়ে দালাল চক্রের মাধ্যমে তারা সীমান্তবর্তী এলাকায় এসেছে।
সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানানো হয়, ঠাকুরগাঁও সেক্টরের অধীনস্থ নীলফামারী ব্যাটালিয়ন (৫৬ বিজিবি) সীমান্তে অবৈধ অনুপ্রবেশকারীদের আইনের আওতায় আনার লক্ষ্যে সদা তৎপর রয়েছে। এরই ধারাবাহিকতায় গোয়েন্দা তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে পঞ্চগড় জেলার সদরের হাড়িভাসা ইউনিয়নের ঘাগড়া বিওপির দায়িত্বপূর্ণ এলাকার সীমান্ত পিলার ৭৪৯/২০-এস থেকে ৩০ গজ বাংলাদেশের অভ্যন্তরে গোয়ালপাড়া নামক স্থান দিয়ে রাত সাড়ে ৯টার দিকে ভারতে অনুপ্রবেশের সময় বিওপির আভিযানিক দল অভিযান পরিচালনা করে ওই ছয় বাংলাদেশিকে আটক করে।
তাদের বিরুদ্ধে আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের প্রক্রিয়া চলমান রয়েছে।
নীলফামারী ব্যাটালিয়নের (৫৬ বিজিবি) অধিনায়ক লেফট্যানেন্ট কর্নেল শেখ মোহাম্মদ বদরুদ্দোজা সময় সংবাদকে বলেন, বিজিবি সদর দফতরের নির্দেশনা অনুযায়ী দায়িত্বপূর্ণ সীমান্তে অবৈধ অনুপ্রবেশ ও চোরাচালান প্রতিরোধকল্পে বিজিবির অভিযানিক কার্যক্রম ও গোয়েন্দা তৎপরতা অব্যাহত রয়েছে। সীমান্ত এলাকা দিয়ে পার্শ্ববর্তী দেশে অবৈধ অনুপ্রবেশ প্রতিরোধে বিজিবি শক্ত অবস্থানে রয়েছে। যে কোনো মূল্যে অবৈধ অনুপ্রবেশ রোধে ৫৬ বিজিবি কঠোর নজরদারি নিশ্চিতের পাশাপাশি অনুপ্রবেশ বন্ধে সদা প্রস্তুত। উৎস: সময়নিউজটিভি।
