Ruthless kidnappers murdered 8th grade student Anay Modak even after collecting ransom as they had demanded in the amount of Taka 1 lakh (100,000).

In the evening of Tuesday, January 14, thirteen year old Hindu child Anay Chandra Modak left home to buy some educational materials at Belab Bazar. He never returned home. His family searched all over the place but could not find him. The family then filed a general diary Anay’s at Belab Police Station that same night for their “Missing child”. The general diary now has transformed to murder case with the Police. 

Anay’s family received an unanimous call claiming that Anay had been kidnapped. The caller demanded a ransom of one lakh Taka for his release. As demanded, Anay’s family delivered the ransom money obeying the kidnapper’s instruction. But even with the delivery of the ransom money, the family did not receive child Anoy alive. The dead body of 8th grade student Anay Chandra Modak was recovered from Arial Khan river on January 19 which is 5 days after the kidnap.

Child Anay Chandra Modak is the son of Gaurang Chandra Modak of Belab Matial Para village of Belab Upazila of Narsingdi. He is an eighth grade student of Belab Pilot Government Mordan High School. He was only 13 years old.

নরসিংদীতে এক লাখ টাকা মুক্তিপণ নিয়েও ৮ ম শ্রেণীর ছাত্র অনয় মোদককে নির্মমভাবে হত্যা করেছে অপহরণকারীরা।

ঘটনার বিস্তারিত বিবরণে জানা গেছে, গত ১৪ জানুয়ারি সন্ধ্যায় অনয় চন্দ্র মোদক বাড়ি থেকে শিক্ষা উপকরণ কিনতে বেলাব বাজারে যায়। সেখান থেকে সে নিখোঁজ হয়। তার পরিবার বিভিন্ন জায়গায় খোঁজাখুঁজি করে কোনো সন্ধান পায়নি। এ ঘটনায় ওই দিন রাতেই বেলাব থানায় সাধারণ ডায়রি করে তার পরিবার। যা পরবর্তীতে মামলায় রূপান্তর হয়।

নিখোঁজের পর অজ্ঞাত নাম্বার থেকে তাকে অপহরণ করা হয়েছে দাবি করে! এক লাখ টাকা মুক্তিপণ চাওয়া হয়। তাদের কথামত মুক্তিপণ হিসাবে পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে টাকাও দেওয়া হয়। কিন্তু লাখ টাক মুক্তিপণ দিয়েও অনয়কে জীবিত পেলোনা পরিবার!

উল্লেখ্য, অপহরণের ৫ দিন পর ৮ম শ্রেণীর ছাত্র অনয় চন্দ্র মোদকের মৃতদেহ আজ আড়িয়াল খাঁ নদী থেকে উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। অনয় চন্দ্র মোদক নরসিংদীর বেলাব উপজেলার বেলাব মাটিয়াল পাড়া গ্রামের গৌরাঙ্গ চন্দ্র মোদকের ছেলে। সে বেলাব পাইলট সরকারি মর্ডান উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ের অষ্টম শ্রেণির ছাত্র। বয়স মাত্র ১৩ বছর।
