Sometime in the night of Monday, January 27, 2025, some unidentified miscreants broke and entered Hindu temple Shree Ram Krishna Seva Ashram and stole gold ornaments and cash. The miscreants also vandalized the temple’s Hindu Deities. The incident took place at Delua Shree Shree Ram Krishna Seva Ashram located in Paur town of Belkuchi upazila in Sirajganj district.
On Tuesday, January 28, Swapan Kumar Poyar from the Central Party said that Monday night around 8 pm the devotees locked the temple and left the temple premises after the worship. The next morning which is Tuesday morning, the devotees entered the temple by unlocking the front door of the temple and found that the lock of the north-east corner gate was broken.
Swapan Kumar Poyar stated that the temple Deities including gold ornaments of the deities were stolen. He estimated that the theft cost the temple a loss in the amount of one and a half lakh Taka (Bangladesh currency).
Zakeria Hossain, officer in charge of Belkuchi police station, said that the Police authority has received a written complaint on the theft and that they would take legal action on completion of their analysis.

সিরাজগঞ্জে তালা ভেঙে মন্দিরের স্বর্ণালঙ্কার ও বিগ্রহ চুরি
সিরাজগঞ্জে একটি মন্দিরের তালা ভেঙে প্রতিমার গায়ে থাকা স্বর্ণালঙ্কার ও প্রতিমার চুরির অভিযোগ পাওয়া গেছে। এ ঘটনায় থানায় লিখিত অভিযোগ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
সোমবার (২৭ জানুয়ারি) রাতের কোনো এক সময় জেলার বেলকুচি উপজেলার পৌর শহরের দেলুয়া শ্রী শ্রী রাম কৃষ্ণ সেবাশ্রম মন্দিরে এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
মঙ্গলবার (২৮ জানুয়ারি) দুপুরে মন্দির কমিটি পক্ষ থেকে স্বপন কুমার পোদ্দার জানান, রাত আটটার দিকে ভক্তরা উপাসনা শেষে মন্দিরে তালা দিয়ে চলে যান। সকালে মন্দিরের সামনের তালা খুলে ভেতরে গিয়ে দেখা যায় উত্তর-পূর্ব কোণের গেটের তালা ভাঙা। মন্দিরের প্রতিমার গায়ে থাকা স্বর্ণালঙ্কারসহ বিভিন্ন বিগ্রহ চুরি করা হয়েছে।
তার দাবি, চুরির ঘটনায় মন্দিরের ক্ষতি দেড় লাখ টাকা।
বেলকুচি থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ জাকেরিয়া হোসেন জানান, অভিযোগ পেয়েছি। বিষয়টি ক্ষতিয়ে দেখে আইনি ব্যবস্থা নেবো।
