Deepak Debnath is a gold trader by profession and the owner of a gold jewelry store named\u00a0Puja Shilpalaya located at Mirganj Bazar of\u00a0Raipur\u00a0Upazila,\u00a0Lakshmipur District\u00a0in Bangladesh. He sells gold ornaments at his store where all the ornaments are also stored. Deepak is a Hindu by religion in Bangladesh where Hindus are being frequent target of violent attacks with full support of the government since August 5, 2024. Looting and robbing of Hindu wealth is a common form of attack by Muslim Extremists.<\/p>\n
In the last week of October (waiting for date confirmation), Deepak came to his store to a shocking discovery that all his inventory gold ornaments were stolen overnight. The total weight of the ornaments stolen was almost 30 bhori gold by weight which is about 350 grams. The value of the stolen gold in Bangladesh currency is over TK. sixty lakh (60,00,000) which is a very large sum of money. Small business owner Deepak had all his wealth invested in his gold jewelry store which is stolen.<\/p>\n
Deepak is seen wailing inconsolably rolling on this empty store floor on Facebook video<\/a> for having lost all his wealth overnight to the thieves. This theft has rendered Deepak and his family penniless beggar.
