58 year old Mr. Bhabesh Chandra Roy<\/strong>, a Hindu by religion and a community leader, was kidnapped in the afternoon on Thursday, April 17, 2025 and fatally beaten to death by Muslim attackers. Roy received a call in his cell phone at about 4:30 PM local time that most likely was made by the murderers to confirm Roy’s location. Four men on motorcycles kidnapped Roy about half an hour later at around 5 PM, taking him to Narabari village, where he was murdered by beating. His body was found later that night.<\/p>\n

A resident of Basudebpur village under Shatagram Union, Roy<\/strong>\u00a0 was a prominent leader of the Hindu community in the area. He was also the vice-president of the Biral unit of the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad in Dinajpur district.<\/p>\n

Bangladesh Government under the leadership of\u00a0Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus has been violently attacking and even directly killing Hindus since August 5, 2024. The Police authority and Military authority in 100% of the attacks acted against the Hindu victims and directly led the attacks in some other cases. Roy’s murder is a concrete proof of\u00a0 Government complicity.\u00a0A prominent Bangladeshi daily newspaper The Daily Star originally published the murder of Roy<\/strong>\u00a0on April 18 but then The Daily Star\u00a0retracted the news.<\/a> Not only that, The Daily Star then published that Roy’s death was a completely natural death as per the police investigation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bangladesh Government is directly involved in these violent attacks on Hindu religious minorities. All Muslim Extremist attackers (with one or two exceptions) are at large who often threaten to re-attack and even re-attacked the victims in some cases. The head of Bangladesh Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus is accountable and responsible for all the violent attacks and his failure to protect the Hindu religious minorities.<\/p>\n

HRCB (Human Rights Center for Bangladesh) demands immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the murderers.\u00a0HRCB also strongly calls upon all Bangladesh news media for grossly violating principles of unbiased journalism by not publishing the violent attacks on Hindu religious minorities across the country.<\/p>\n
